And what better way to get into that spirit than by celebrating with some pretty awesome booze-filled concoctions… in our opinion anyway.
The best Halloween drink recipes we selected are all pretty straightforward, meaning no time needs to be wasted staring at a recipe book trying to figure out what goes in them.
The best adult beverages for Halloween…
Hard Cider Jell-O Shots
Perhaps the most iconic of all Halloween drinks, this concoction uses apple cider and Jell-O to create a “blood” shot that does the trick or treating just a bit more fun!
You’ll Need: To combine 1 cup of white spiced hard cider with two packages of red Jell-O and stir until the gelatin dissolves. Pour into 1/2 ounce cups and refrigerate for two hours to harden.
Pumpkin Spice Punch
Everyone likes a good punch, especially those with an alcoholic kick!
You’ll need: Pumpkin spice concentrate as well as ginger ale, or if you’re feeling adventurous, use champagne to give it a festive “fizz.” Pour 2 cups of apple juice, 1/3 cup of concentrate, and the splash of ginger ale into a pitcher. Stir gently until blended, and then pour over ice for serving.
Spiced Apple Cider Sangria
If you love sangrias, then this one is going to be your favorite!
You’ll need 4 apples, sliced, 1 orange (cut into slices), and 2 cups of water. Boil in a saucepan until reduced by half. Add 1 cup of brandy, 2 cups of sugar, and 1 cup of port. Bring it back to a boil for 5 minutes, and then allow it to cool. Add 4 cups of apple juice and the rest of the ingredients when everything has cooled to room temperature.
Bloody Raspberry Cocktail
Not blood, but alcoholic! This drink will make your Halloween party a hit. The fun part is adding the raspberry flavor to a Bloody Mary.
You’ll need 1 cup of raspberries with one cup of simple syrup (equal parts sugar and water). Allow it to sit overnight in the refrigerator before using. Make sure that you strain the seeds out before mixing them into the tomato juice, or you’ll end up with a less than pleasant drink.
Apple Cider Martini
This recipe is a favorite of martini lovers!
You’ll need 3 ounces of apple brandy (or Vodka), 4 ounces of cinnamon-infused apple cider (with the cinnamon sticks left in for decoration), and a splash of club soda. Shake with ice and serve chilled.
Rum Drinks for Halloween
Spicy Rum Punch Mix Recipe with Orange Juice & Mango Juice:
You’ll need 1 cup each of unsweetened mango and orange juices, 3/4 cup light rum (such as a Cacique brand). 2 tbsp sugar. 1/2 cup lemon-lime soda (such as Fresca), 2 tbsp cranberry juice, 1 cup orange sherbert.
In a large pitcher or punch bowl, mix the first four ingredients and stir to combine well. Add ice cubes and keep chilled until ready to use. In small cups, fill with your choice of frozen drink mixes such as sherbert, margaritas, etc.; add a few ice cubes. Then fill the rest of the glass with rum punch to flavor the drink; serve this cold mixture in short tumblers. This is sure to get everyone in a festive Halloween mood!
Mudslide Boozy Milkshake Recipe:
You’ll need 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 2 oz vodka, 2 oz Kahlua coffee liqueur, 4 oz milk.
This recipe is great to serve if your Halloween party guests prefer creamy alcoholic drinks (as opposed to hard liquor!) If you’re the host of a Halloween party that includes children, you can make this drink without the vodka; just replace it with more milk and coffee liqueur. Serve this in an oversized mixing glass or any other large pitcher; you can also add ice cubes for a more chilling effect!
Boiled Pumpkin Latte Recipe:
You’ll need 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree, 3 tbsp sugar, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, a dash of cinnamon, ten whole allspice berries, and cracked black pepper 1/2 tsp ginger powder, one pinch of salt, 4 cups boiling water.
This recipe is an excellent option for those who love beer and coffee-flavored mixed drinks. This cocktail tastes fantastic; it’s like enjoying pumpkin pie with your morning cup of joe! Boil some whole allspice berries together with the water used to make your Halloween party’s coffee or hot chocolate beverage (or you can concoct a pot just for this drink). Allow the mixture to simmer on low heat for 20 minutes so that the flavor from allspice will permeate into the water. Mix in sugar while it simmers, then add ginger and other spices as desired. Do not boil this concoction longer than 25 minutes; you don’t want to continue boiling the spices into the water, which will result in a bitter-tasting coffee beverage.
Ingredient notes: make sure not to add more than 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree per each 5-gallon batch (or about 2 cups for any smaller amount) so it doesn’t taste too sweet! Then simply pour this hot coffee brew into an ice-filled punch bowl. You may choose to garnish the drink with gingerbread cookies, chocolate syrup drizzled on top, or even whipped cream; enjoy this autumnal alcoholic drink!

Raspberry Liqueur: This liqueur is ideal for any party where you will be dressing up in a sexy costume, such as a naughty nurse or French maid. A shot of Raspberry Liqueur goes down smoothly and creates a hot tingle that feels good on your throat.
Cranberry Liquor: This smooth liqueur is hard to find in regular liquor stores. But it’s easy to find online, and it makes the perfect addition to any Halloween costume party. You can also buy Cranberry Vodka and mix it with iced tea for a great drink that you can sip throughout the night.
Tequila: Only use the best brands of tequila, such as Exotico, and make sure to avoid homemade margaritas, which can be sickeningly sweet. The right amount of lime brings out a drink’s flavor while masking some alcohol burn. Try a frozen margarita or slice up limes and throw them in a pitcher of ice water for something different.
Beer: Even if you don’t usually drink beer, it’s a good idea to have one on hand when your friends arrive at the Halloween party. You never know who will show up, and needing something to wash down all those hors d’oeuvres can make for an uncomfortable situation.
Wine: What do most adults drink to celebrate a big event? Alcoholic beverages are famous for this, and the best wines to have on hand can also be used to spice up your adult Halloween party. Whether it’s an open red wine or semi-dry white variety you need, there are plenty of choices out there for all types of drinkers.
DRINKING LESS IS MORE!
Sometimes people go overboard with their Halloween party beverages; we also wanted to provide some Halloween-themed non-alcoholic mocktails to go along with the great Halloween Alcohol drinks above!
In the Non-alcoholic Pumpkin latte recipe, you simply boil a bunch of spices together with some water, and you’ll have a spiced pumpkin coffee drink that is excellent for both adults and kids alike. This is easy to make: all you do is boil together with the following ingredients for about half an hour (until the spices are infused into the water; no need to cook it longer than that).
Boil these items together for about 30 minutes, then make some Halloween-themed coffee or hot chocolate as you usually would. Spoon some of the pumpkin spice mixtures into your beverage and serve!
The non-alcoholic pumpkin pie beverage recipe is pretty straightforward: simply add all of these ingredients (rum extract + milk + ice cream) into a blender and blend until smooth. (You can also make this drink in advance if you want to, but be sure that it’s refrigerated until you serve it!)
Happy Halloween Denver!
